"Draco walked the empty hallways of Hogwarts, a familiar ache pulsing in his chest. He'd spent a good part of his life in this castle - there were a lot of memories here. Sure some of them weren't happy, hell some were down right upsetting and they just deepened the ache in his chest, but many of them - a good many, were happy.. ones that he could say were far better and happier then any memory he might have in his own home. Hogwarts was his second home, as much as he hated to admit that fact, it was true and in his own way, he loved this old school.
Everything that made him, him, stemmed from everything he had been through in this castle. It sickened him that the death eaters were going to be allowed in here and have free roam. Dumbledore had died and after that, Voldemort had been able to get control. Parents had pulled their children from the school and now just struggled to keep them from the Dark Lord's eye. No one knew where Harry Potter had gone to, along with Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They had all just.. disappeared. Draco took in a shaky breath and looked around him in order to keep tears from actually coming to his eyes and falling.
The whole castle was deafeningly quiet, and with the snow blowing outside, it made it eerily still. Draco wondered how Hermione was.. he hadn't seen or heard from her in months. She hadn't said a word to him or anyone before disappearing. Draco hoped that she was alright. He may not have gotten along with her that well from the start, but he had to admit she had a good heart..and she was obviously a damn good friend.
Draco had always pictured his life differently of course.. but he never pictured it ending like this.. He wouldn't give up what he had experienced here - even for Voldemort. There were plenty of other people Draco had gotten to know in this last year of his schooling. People he wouldn't have dreamed of associating with. it gave him a sense of pride, as well as shock that it had happened. To him. Draco Malfoy. School prat and bastard. The smarmy ferret boy that clung to mummy's robes and daddy's money.
Stepping up to one of the windows, Draco looked out through the snow at the grounds below.. the Death Eaters could be seen arriving far down the path. Draco shut his eyes unwilling to let that image fill his head.. he didn't want to think of what was to come.. he wanted to remember this place as it had been.. with students laughing and smiling and joking with each other. He turned from the window and faced the hall again. For one last moment.. in the quickest blink of an eye.. Draco saw the familiar students mingling and chatting in the hall. But then it was gone.. it had just been his day dream.. a play of the eye. He sighed again, heavily - Hogwarts would never be the same."

The Death Eaters have stormed through Hogwarts, claiming victory through it's halls.. The Golden Trio has vanished and the people of wizarding London have begun to lose hope. Could Hogwarts ever be the same again..? Has Voldemort really won? Can Dumbldore's Army, rise from the ashes, and rebuild the fallen?
